Evolutionary relationships of the studied taxa. Neighbor-joining trees of C. pipiens based on A period and B timeless inferred amino acid sequences with the C. quinquefasciatus (CPIJ007193) as the outgroup. Percent bootstrap support based on 1000 replicates. Seven amino acid sequences were analysed with a total of 766 positions of PERIOD (A) and 519 positions of TIMELESS (B) in the final datasets.
